Cornerstone Christian Academy

Statement of Educational Philosophy

Curriculum Overview           Faculty and Staff           On-Line Resources

The educational philosophy of Cornerstone Christian Academy reflects our vision of a Christian learning community in partnership with the family that develops the whole child to their highest potentials: intellectual, spiritual, physical, emotional, cultural, and moral. To thrive in the world as self-reliant citizens:
  • All children should develop intellectually, taught with the highest standards of instruction from the basic skills to higher order concepts and cultural literacy.

  • All children should develop spiritually, nurtured in faith, wisdom and biblical knowledge, in order to represent God's people in the world and walk in God's light through their lives.

  • All children should develop physically, their bodies as "temples of God" in strength and health.

  • All children should develop emotional health, to have friends, to be a friend, and to care for others as they would wish to be cared for themselves.

  • All children should have a thorough knowledge of culture, theirs as well as others, in literature, music, expressive arts and customs.

  • All children should develop moral consciences, able to discern right from wrong, to know the good, do the good and love the good, and to demonstrate Christian character.

We believe that students learn best in a positive climate of respect, safety and trust, where the educational program is designed and guided by knowledgeable, dedicated and loving educators, and where interactive experiences that appeal to multiple intelligences and all learning styles are provided.
