All Parents are members of the Cornerstone Parent Association. Meetings are usually held on the second Tuesday of each month. Issues pertinent to the success of the school and its families are discussed with school administration. All parents are expected to attend these monthly meetings, as well as to participate in school activities that involve their children.
Cornerstone encourages good communication between home and school. One of our best tools to facilitate this is ParentsWeb, which allows you to see the lesson plans and homework for each of your child's classes, send email to your child's teacher, and update your contact information for the school. Parent - Teacher Conferences
Cornerstone affirms that the home and school are partners in the education and development of each child. To that end it is vital that teachers and parents regularly communicate with one another. Parents are encouraged to call teachers and administrators at any time and are welcome to schedule a visit in individual classrooms. Parent and Teacher conferences are held formally at least twice a year. Parents are required to attend these conferances with their child's teacher. During the first and third quarters of the school year, parents will receive their child's report card at these conferences.
As part of your commitment to your child's education, we ask all parents to volunteer at least 20 hours each school year. Check out the ways you can help. There's something for everyone.
